Surviving Damnation
Acadians sent into exile from Nova Scotia, 1755

Read an excerpt from Surviving Damnation
This story is based on fact and has nothing to do with being damned to hell or suviving the experience. But for a group of Acadians who lived in 1755 in what is now Nova Scotia, it must have felt like it.

Their lives were tragically disrupted when they were uprooted from their homeland, Acadia, and deported to English colonies around the world. Many Acadians took root in Louisiana where their descendants became known as Cajuns. Benoit is a 10th generation Acadian. Enclosed in the book is a Benoit family tree of the author's direct ancestors.
For Genealogy enthusiasts, this book is a prototype for making one's family history interesting to future generations. It takes factual information about ancestors and adds flesh to them by making them come alive in the times and places in which they lived.
