Surving Damnation

"The author, Dr. R.W."Ben" Benoit, obviously understands 18th century Acadians so well that he doesn't need to pound it into the reader's head. Details are woven, not forced, and that's tough to accomplish in even the most engaging historical fiction. The reader can't help but root for the protagonist's family as it survives exile, thanks to the author's deft use of description and obvious genealogical research. It also helps that the book is infused with grounding...even novice readers will appreciate the author's explanation and background work (the introduction and maps , for example, are valuable elements) Writer's Digest 2007

" I can't believe I never heard about this horrible tragedy about the Acadians until reading this cleverly crafted true tale. Has it been simply swept under the rug by historians (especially the English) all these years?"
- Judy Krass, Teacher
Chicago, Ilinois.

"A perfect book for your next flight. An easy read to make a flight from Denver to Boston more enjoyable.
Jacob Edwards
Southbridge, MA.

"Thank you for blending Acadian history with our family histories. One can merely insert the name of one's own ancestor in place of the author's, and imagine how it must have been like to leave the homeland in Nova Scotia in 1755."
Gail Clark
Falls Church, VA.

"I absolutely loved the book, especially the surprise ending between Queen Elizabeth II and her grandson, Prince William. Food for thought."
Sheri Rossing
Highlands Ranch, CO.
